Girardet-
Philippe Girardet was born and raised in Switzerland near the headwaters of the Rhone, a French-speaking region where winemaking is a centuries old tradition. Philippe worked on his uncle’s vineyard in Switzerland where he discovered his passion for wine. While working as a design engineer at Cal Tec in the 1960’s Philippe met a beautiful young woman named Bonnie, with her own passions for the wines of Europe. The two were romantic idealists to the very heart and were soon married.
It was a vacation to Oregon in the 1960’s that lead Philippe and Bonnie to discover the lush Umpqua Valley and the future home of Girardet Wine Cellars. They selected a vineyard site Southwest of Roseburg on a sunny slope set perfectly between the cool coastal climate and the warm interior of the Umpqua Valley. The Girardets established their own vineyard in 1971. The vineyard now totals 35 acres of over 30 varieties of grapes, which have been painstakingly selected over the years. “This is an outstanding area for fruit, especially grapes,” says Philippe. www.girardetwine.com
David Hill Vineyards-
David Hill Vineyard & Winery is a designated historical landmark on the Washington County (Or) register. With sweeping views of Oregon’s coast range, David Hill Vineyards is one of the most picturesque wine venues in the Willamette Valley. Our tasting room is located in a historic farmhouse, originally built in 1883. The farm is 140 acres in size of which 40 acres are planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Semillon, Sylvaner & Muscat. Pinot Noir is our major planting (50%).
We chose the name David Hill to honor two Oregon pioneers, Frederick David for whom the hill was named, and David
Hill, the chairman of a three person committee which oversaw the territorial government of the “Oregon Country” before Oregon became a state, and for whom the town of Hillsboro is named.
Our historic farmhouse, winery, and surrounding yard and gardens present an ideal setting for social events, and are available for rental. Whether it’s a wedding, a reception, a picnic, or a corporate meeting, David Hill’s breathtaking view, premium wines and friendly staff create the perfect environment. Please call for rates and information.
We have owned the property since 1992, completely restoring the house and doubling the size of the vineyard. Jason Bull, our winemaker, has many years of winemaking experience in California as well as Oregon. William Kobyluck, Director of Sales and Marketing comes to us from Las Vegas with many years (and many stories!) of experiences in the gaming and restaurant industry . Our tasting room manager, Michele Andrich, has a wealth of experience in the restaurant business and a great love of food and wine. She will be here to greet you.

Dalla Vina Wines-
Dalla Vina wines, are hand-crafted by the Dinger family at the Owen Roe Winery. Karl Dinger, the winemaker, purchases premium fruit from Washington State while awaiting the first harvest from the family’s “World Class” vineyard site on the southeast slope of Parrett Mountain in Wilsonville, Dalla Terra Vineyard.
After winning numerous amateur competitions, Karl has recently introduced the first commercial release of his 2004 vintage. This production of four red wines of exceptional quality has earned rave reviews from local and regional critics, and recently was awarded gold and silver medals at the prestigious Northwest Wine Summit.
These fruit-forward wines are delightfully drinkable and food friendly yet have the structure to age nicely if you can manage to put some away. The wines are produced in a very limited supply with a total production of less than 300 cases. For the 2005 vintage, Dalla Vina produced just over 1,000 cases including "Amore" named the "Best Dessert Wine" by the 2007 NW wine Summit. www.DallaVinaWines.com
Mia Sonatina Cellars-
We are Vern and Jo Spencer, owners of Mia Sonatina Cellars. Mia Sonatina is the culmination of our transformation from wine drinkers to wine makers.
Being residents of Oregon, we began our journey by visiting the tasting rooms and wine tours of the fine wineries in our state. Then about 7 years ago we began to dreaming of owning and operating our own winery. We began exploring the world of wine beyond our local community. We discovered new wines from the world’s great wine regions.
We began making wine in our garage. We pulled the stems off 80 pounds of grapes by hand and then stomped them with our feet. We bottled 12 different wines our first year and nursed them through fermentation by keeping them warm around our wood burning stove. We bottled 12 different varieties however, we bottled them too early. The result? Exploding corks! We laugh now about some of our errors and the results. We learned from our favorite home brew retail shop and our own mistakes. Our knowledge and our confidence grew. We entered our wine in our local county fair (ask Vern about that $4.50 check). By that time, we had greatly improved our winemaking and were able to create enjoyable and drinkable wines.
We still thirsted for more knowledge. We began to develop our knowledge of growing grapes, winemaking and educating our palates through a professional winemaking and vineyard management program. We planted our first acre vineyard of nursery stock. We worked in other wineries developing more wine industry knowledge. We have made some wonderful friends as we have followed our dream. Finally, Mia Sonatina Cellars was born when we filed for our licensure in July, 2003.
Our goal is to create a beautiful place to enjoy the music of the vineyard. Being a newly formed winery, we are looking for that magical place to set down our roots. Until that time, we will be functioning as a virtual winery. Our wines may be purchased at one of the many Oregon wine festivals; one of the retail outlets listed on this website; via online sales or phone.
Loosely translated, Mia Sonatina means “my little song”. As a sonata is a song for your heart, our wines are a song for your palate. Join us for a glass of one of our delightful wines. www.miasonatina.com

Walliamette Valley Vineyards-
Founder, Jim Bernau, purchased the Estate site in 1983 and cleared away the old pioneer plum orchard hidden in scotch broom and blackberry vines. He planted Pinot Noir (Pommard and Wadenswil clones), Chardonnay (Dijon and Espiguette) and Pinot Gris. In the beginning he hand watered the vines with thousands of feet of hose.
Numerous classes at UC Davis, and seminars from here to France, sharpened Jim’s viticultural skills and in 1989 he was ready to build his dream--a world class winery in the Willamette Valley—and make cool-climate varietals, especially Pinot Noir, in sufficient
quantities to be served and sold in the best restaurants and bottle shops in the world.
A combination of determination and extraordinary people has brought Willamette Valley Vineyards from an idea to one of the region's leading wineries, earning the title "One of America's Great Pinot Noir Producers," from Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Our approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit using careful canopy management, and to achieve wines that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. Since we ferment and barrel each vineyard lot separately (sometimes as small as two barrels) we can save the best barrels for single vineyard bottlings and Signature Cuvée.
Our stylistic emphasis is on pure varietal fruit characters, with attention to depth, richness of mouthfeel, and balance. The wines are truly a collaborative effort of the entire vineyard and winemaking staff.
The winery and underground cellar are carved into the top of an ancient volcanic flow, the soil red from its oxidized iron content and well-drained. This unique terroir is similar to the red clay soil found in the Grand Cru Pinot Noir vineyards of Romaneé-st-Vivant in Burgundy, where the "soil gives France's most perfumed, satiny, expensive wine" (Hugh Johnson, World Atlas of Wine). www.wvv.com

Eola Hills Wine Cellars-
Tom Huggins, founder and general manager of Eola Hills, had a dream rooted in facts. He knew that great wines could only come from great vineyards, and through his former occupation as a agricultural insurance expert, he knew where that precious vineyard land was located. This knowledge enabled him to purchase some of the prime sites for his own vineyards in the rolling terrain of the Northwest Willamette Valley in Oregon wine country, and to fulfill a dream of creating his own wine.
Situated in a natural weather shadow of the Coast Range, which shunts storms from the Pacific Ocean north to Portland and south below Salem, the Eola Hills vineyards are protected from weather extremes. Yet in summer, a gorge carved by ancient glaciers draws in maritime air to provide ideal cooling for sensitive varietals in those warmer months.
In 1986 the first crop was harvested and transformed into wine by a nearby winery. The wine's quality provided ample proof of the vineyards' great potential. Therefore, in 1987, Eola Hills Wine Cellars was constructed at Rickreall, 10 miles west of Salem. This location is central to the vineyard holdings as well as other prime vineyards searched out and placed under contract to Eola Hills.
